Salesforce Mobile App
The Salesforce mobile app lets you access your CRM on the go. It's available for iOS and Android and works with the same data as the desktop version.
Installing the App
- Open the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)
- Search for Salesforce
- Download and install the app
- Open the app and log in with your Salesforce credentials
- If prompted for a custom domain, enter your org's login URL
Navigating the Mobile App

The mobile app has a simplified layout compared to desktop:

| Navigation menu | Hamburger icon (top-left) — access tabs, recent items, favourites |
| Search | Magnifying glass icon (top) — global search |
| Quick actions | + button (bottom-right) — create records, log calls, etc. |
| Notifications | Bell icon — Chatter mentions, approvals, alerts |
The Navigation Menu
Tap the hamburger icon to access:
- Recent — records you've recently viewed
- Favourites — records and list views you've favourited
- Object tabs — Leads, Contacts, Clients, etc.
- App Launcher — switch between apps
Working with Records

Viewing Records
- Tap any record name to open it
- Swipe between Details, Related, and Activity tabs
- Tap field values to see full content (some are truncated on small screens)
Editing Records
- Open a record
- Tap the Edit button (pencil icon)
- Modify fields
- Tap Save
Creating Records
- Tap the + button in the bottom-right
- Select the record type (Lead, Contact, etc.)
- Fill in the fields
- Tap Save
Key Mobile Features
Log a Call
- Open a Lead or Contact
- Tap Log a Call in the quick actions
- Enter the subject and comments
- Tap Save
This creates an activity record linked to the person.
Take Notes
- Tap the + button
- Select New Note
- Type your notes
- Relate the note to a record if applicable
- Notes sync to desktop automatically
Offline Access
The mobile app can cache recently viewed records for offline use:
- Records you've recently opened are available offline
- Changes made offline sync when you reconnect
- Not all features work offline — search and reports require connectivity
Notifications
The mobile app sends push notifications for:
- Approval requests
- Chatter @mentions
- Task reminders
- Custom alerts
Manage notification settings in the app under Settings → Notifications.
Tips
- Favourite the records and list views you access most — they're faster to reach on mobile than navigating through menus
- Use voice dictation (your phone's built-in feature) for faster data entry on mobile
- The mobile app shows a simplified page layout — some fields visible on desktop may not appear on mobile. Your admin can customise the mobile layout
- Swipe down on any list to refresh data
- The mobile app is best for quick lookups, logging calls, and updating records on the go. Complex tasks like building reports are easier on desktop
